Faith is the Key
Trust is Necessary
Patience is What it Takes

2 Peter 3:8-9

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness.

aany times, Christians can recall a moment in time when the Lord spoke a word to them.
Some people may even try to tell you how long (days, month, years) they waited for that word to manifest.

Yet, if Christians go back to scripture and read how long it took the Israelites to arrive in the Promised Land
they would come to understand, God is in control and there is a process we all go through before God’s word is manifested in our lives.
Now, remember, it took the Israelites forty years to enter into the Promised Land.

During those forty years, a generation of Israelites wasn’t able to enter into the Promise Land because they still had a slave mentality. Although, the Lord worked many miracles for them during that time, they had Aaron create golden images/other gods to worship instead of worshipping and honoring the Lord.Numbers 32:11 Because they have not followed me wholeheartedly, not one of those who were twenty years old or more when they came up out of Egypt will see the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
V12. Not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
God’s Word to Abraham, and the Call of Abraham came when he was seventy-five years old.

Genesis 12

V1. The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
V2. “I will make you into a great nation, And I will bless you; I will make your name great, And you will be a blessing.
V3. I will bless those who bless you, And whoever curses you, I will curse; And all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

Then in their old age, the Lord told Abraham he would have a child, a son with his wife Sarah.  Being of old age Sara laughed.

Genesis 21:5 Abraham was a hundred years old when his son Isaac was born to him and Sarah was ninety.

At this time, Abraham’s name was still Abram, it had not changed as of yet.God had more to tell Abram, because He wanted Abram to know what He had planned for him and his descendants, if He had faith.

Genesis 17

V1. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty, walk before me faithfully and be blameless.
V2. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”
V3. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,
V4. “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.
V5. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.

V6. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.
V7. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
Abraham had to have a son with his wife Sarah for the word God spoke to him to manifest.

God doesn't need your help to make His promise manifest.
What He does need is your faith and your obedience to the instructions that He gives you.

Genesis 17
V19. Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac.
I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.
V20. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him;
V21. But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.”
V22. When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.
This promise had to manifest through Abraham’s faith, believing he would impregnate his wife and they would have a child, a son  in his old age.
The Lord’s word, His covenant would manifest through Abraham’s son with his wife Sarah, however, the promise did not happen without the process.
Sara laughed when she heard this, which was evident of doubt and her not believing the Lord’s spoken word.

Genesis 18
V12, So, Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”
V13. Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’
V14. Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
V15. Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.“
This is the promise/covenant that God made with Abraham, and to Isaac and Jacob.
When God looks at you, He is not looking at how old you are or if you think He can fulfill the promise or purpurse He has for your life.

God is not counting the number of days that have passed since he created you or made a promise to you.
Just know that God doesn’t count days in a twenty-four-hour span.

He does not count the number of days that you have been waiting, however He does consider if you believe what He spoke to you.
You are important to God, so much so that He even knows the number of hairs on your head, so why would He choose not to fulfil His promise to you yet He keeps count of the strands of hair you lose? So, take the Lord, your God at His word and fulfill your purpose, not counting the days that past, but counting the the blessing of the Lord.

2 Peter 3
V8. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
V9. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
